The Only Decision That Matters In Life
 by: Matt Borja

You can read this article at http://www.kjvstudies.com/

There will come a time for every individual upon the face of the earth when they will have to make an extremely critical decision. This is the same decision that Pontius Pilate had to make, and did make, shortly before sending the Lord Jesus Christ to His death.

In Matthew 27:22 we see Pilate asking the question, "What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?"

Here the angry mob was thronging Pontius Pilate, pressing him to crucify the Lord. In the next verse, Pilate attempts to reason with the people in asking "Why, what evil hath he done?" But then shortly in the verse to follow, Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing as he washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it."

When it came time to decide what Pilate was going to do with the Lord Jesus Christ, instead of choosing the Lord's side, he gave in to the pressure and influence of the world. As a result, the King of Glory was delievered into the hands of the people and was sent to His death on the cross of Calvary. However, the grave was not the end. The Lord Jesus Christ died, was buried according to the Scriptures and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. And today he poses each and every one of us with the question that we must all one day give an account for:

"What will you do then, with Jesus which is called Christ?"

The Bible says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

The Bible says in John 3:17, "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

The Bible says in Romans5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

You see, the death of Jesus Christ was not by mistake or a little misconception. God purposed to send his only begotten Son, that we might believe on him and obtain eternal life. God loves us so much so that he wants us to be reconciled unto himself. However, there's a problem.

Because God is so pure, holy and just, there is no possible way for us as sinful people to be reconciled unto God. The Lord hates sin and cannot abide in it the way we do. Therefore the two can never see eachother.

The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

The Bible says in Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

The Bible says in Romans 3:10, "...There is none righteous, no, not one:"

The Bible says in Isaiah 64:6, "...and all our righteousness are as filthy rags."

Believe it or not, even the most upright person on the face of this earth is considered a filthy, dirty old rag in the Lord's site. It is only the blood of Jesus Christ that can cleanse us from sin and set us free.

The Bible says in Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

The Bible says in Romans 10:10, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

The Bible says in Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

The Bible says in Acts 16:31, "...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved..."

And so now comes the decision time. What will you do then, with Jesus which is called Christ? Will you reject him as Pilate did and spend eternity in what the Bible defines as the lake of fire? Are you willing to risk your eternal soul like that? Or would you be willing to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour?

God has made it easy for us to obtain eternal life through Jesus Christ, but it is a gift that must be received, not just looked at. Here is how you can receive the gift of God today, and make the decision to accept Christ into your life.

1. Realize that you are a sinner and repent of your sins (Romans 3:23).
2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins (John 3:16).
3. Pray in believing faith, asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to save your soul (Romans 10:9).

That, my friend, is the decision that you must make this very instant.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:2, "...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."

It's decision time.

About The Author

Hi, my name is Matt Borja! I'm currently a very proud member of a local, fundamental, independant, Bible believing church; Bible Baptist Church of Chino Valley, Arizona. As of the rewrite of this short bio of the author (formerly known as A Brief History Of The Author), I am 19 years old (09/24/1986). Over the past couple of years, the Lord has been working on my heart and has really started to mould me into a vessel fit for the Saviour's use. Sad to say, there are not very many teenagers these days who want this for their own lives as well. But as I have witnessed and do testify of the things of God and what he has done in my life, I can see now a far better life, dedicated to serving the Lord.
